Lunch & Dinner....Linner?

Today I was feeling adventurous in the kitchen.  I was perusing my blogs and came across a couple of recipes that caught my fancy.  The two main criteria I have for making a recipe is:  a) do I have everything I need, cause I really despise going to the grocery store and b) will the boys eat it...well, will my little angel eat it.  He's the "picky" one.  I put that in quotes because he's the pickiest out of all of the boys, but in comparison to other children, he's not picky at all.  Soooo, I had everything I needed (for the most part).  I ended up making a surprisingly good pizza hummus for lunch and crockpot tikka masala for dinner.  Both were delicious and, according to my turkey was, "Yummy in my tummy!"  Maybe tomorrow I'll try a pinterest recipe...don't you just love pinterest?

Croup

So Bean is sick.  I think he's got croup.  If you've never had the pleasure of dealing with this illness, let me break down.  First the nose starts dripping.  And dripping.  And dripping.  Then a cough ensues.  But it's not just any old cough.  It's a cough that sounds like a barking seal...if you can imagine.  And any position you put them in to sleep, causes them to wake up because of the gross dripping of snot, which sufficiently closes up any air passage allowing them to breathe.  We've done the steam from a hot shower, humidifier, saline spray and snot sucker.  Thankfully there is no fever and he's in a pretty good mood during the day.  It's just the night time that gets me.  No sleep for Mommy or Bean.  Hopefully he feels better soon cause Mommy needs some sleep!

Just an FYI for you Mommies out there...the NoseFrida Snot Sucker is the BEST!  It's so much better than that bulby thing you get from the hospital.  Bean would scream at the top of his lungs whenever I got that bulb thing out, but with the Snot Sucker, he just smiles and laughs...truth!

Howdy

Welcome to my blog!  Land of the nonsensical, sentimental and sometimes hysterical.  I'm Joanie.  I have three crazy boys and an extremely patient better half.  I'm a stay at home mom and love mostly every minute of it.  I am currently in California but came by way of Texas.  I definitely miss my home town.  I mostly miss my free babysitters family and my bff (another mommy to 3).  We met in a birthing class with our first born little angels and have been friends ever since.  I'm hoping this blog keeps me off of Prozac and maybe brings a little joy into someone else's life.
